About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and globally aware Merchandise Specialist – Bags & Accessories to strengthen our sourcing and product development capabilities. This role requires expertise in international sourcing, especially imports from China, along with a strong understanding of bags, accessories, packaging materials, and lifestyle products.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating cost-effective deals, and ensuring timely procurement while maintaining high quality and compliance standards aligned with the company’s premium positioning.
Roles & Responsibilities
Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Identify and develop reliable international suppliers for bags, accessories, and related product categories
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure consistent supply and quality
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure adherence to company standards
Procurement & Coordination
- Manage the end-to-end sourcing process including supplier research, quotations, negotiation, and order placement
- Coordinate with vendors for product samples, customization, and quality requirements
- Work closely with product development, packaging, and procurement teams to meet business needs
Import & Logistics Handling
- Handle import-related coordination, documentation, and communication with international suppliers
- Ensure smooth execution of procurement processes with timely deliveries
Costing & Negotiation
- Negotiate pricing, MOQs, and lead times to achieve cost-effective sourcing
- Evaluate product costing, quality, and production timelines for decision-making
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all sourced products meet required quality standards and specifications
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and international sourcing norms
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Knowledge of international sourcing and import processes
- Ability to evaluate product quality, costing, and timelines
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Preferred Background
- 2–5 years of experience in international sourcing or import procurement
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Designing from NIFT or other relevant institutes
- Experience in sourcing bags, accessories, packaging materials, or lifestyle products
- Familiarity with global suppliers and sourcing platforms
