We are seeking a Manager Medical Science Liaison Oncology Japan Field to join our Global Medical Affairs Field Medical team, supporting our oncology business in Japan in a field-based work mode. In this role, you will deliver scientific engagement and field insights that strengthen Medical Affairs strategy while collaborating with external experts and cross-functional Medical Affairs teams. Discover your role:

  • Deliver compliant scientific engagement with external oncology experts.
  • Gather and communicate field insights from engagement, congresses, and clinical practice.
  • Own assigned field medical activities with independent judgment.
  • Maintain expert mapping, investigator targets, and engagement priorities.
  • Provide oncology disease-state education to practitioners and researchers.
  • Support evidence generation, medical education, scientific communication, and Medical Affairs projects.
  • Contribute to investigator-initiated studies and clinical trial-site activities.
  • You build trusted relationships while acting with scientific integrity.

This role requires:

  • MD, PhD, or PharmD preferred; scientific bachelor's degree with substantial MSL experience may be considered.
  • Oncology and/or clinical trial experience.
  • Strong oncology and solid tumor expertise; lung cancer and/or immuno-oncology experience preferred.
  • 2+ years in pharmaceutical industry, clinical research, clinical practice, Medical Affairs, or related scientific roles.
  • Ability to independently conduct scientific engagement and field insight gathering.
  • Strong scientific communication and presentation skills with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience building relationships in academic and clinical-practice settings.
  • Experience working in matrix organizations; partnership experience is valued.
  • Understanding of and adherence to non-promotional Field Medical compliance requirements.
  • Fluency in Japanese and English.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 40–60%.
  • Experience with immuno-oncology, targeted, antibody-based, or novel oncology therapies preferred.
  • Prior Field Medical or Medical Science Liaison experience in oncology preferred.
  • Experience translating external scientific discussions into actionable insights preferred.
  • Willingness to contribute beyond field engagement across broader Medical Affairs activities.
  • Strong teamwork, ownership, integrity, flexibility, resourcefulness, and independent problem-solving skills.
