Supported through the generosity of Microsoft, the Howard University School of Law will be hosting in residence top scholars and thought leaders to engage in research at the intersection of racial equity, law, and technology. These Microsoft Technology and Racial Equity Fellows will contribute to the production of research on cutting-edge issues in the racial justice space, with an emphasis on the role of technology.
Per the agreement with the donor, the Microsoft Tech Fellow will spend the 2026-2027 academic year in residence at the Howard University School of Law conducting research on the intersection of technology and racial equity.
Specifically, part of your research will explore the use of artificial intelligence in identifying and rooting out online spectator
racial abuse of athletes.
- Deliver guest lectures in classes
- Provide career counseling for students
- Work on relevant research for various writing projects
- Organize sport and social justice talks each semester featuring leading lawyers and figures in sport
While conducting your research, you may employ up to two Howard University School of Law students as research assistants, the compensation of whom will be supported by Gift funds. The Micorsoft Tech Fellow The Microsoft Tech Fellow will participate in the intellectual life of the Howard University School of Law and will engage with students and faculty around your Microsoft research will participate in the intellectual life of the Howard University School of Law and will engage with students and faculty around your Microsoft research.
Furthermore, you will be willing to present your research at a lecture, colloquium, talk, or other event held at the Howard University School of Law, whether organized by you or others during the 2026-2027 academic year.
