We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute National Operations Manager to lead our nationwide operations and drive the next phase of growth for the business.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Operations NZ, you will be responsible for the overall operational performance, strategic direction, financial results, and growth of Nitrogenx across New Zealand. Based in Auckland, you will lead a multidisciplinary team while ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, and sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute business strategies that support long-term growth objectives.
  • Translate strategic goals into measurable operational outcomes.
  • Identify emerging market opportunities and industry trends.

Operational Excellence

  • Lead national operations to deliver outstanding service, efficiency, and quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain, logistics, and service delivery functions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare, safety, and industry regulations.

Financial Performance

  • Own budgeting, forecasting, and P&L performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Manage capital expenditure planning and financial risk.

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Strengthen market presence across healthcare and related sectors.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with customers and industry stakeholders.

People Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing national team.
  • Promote accountability through clear KPIs and performance management.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and customer-focused culture.

Customer & Risk Management

  • Champion a customer-first approach across the organisation.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks.
  • Ensure business continuity and regulatory compliance standards are maintained.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Experience

  • 5+ years' experience in a senior operations leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale operations and driving business growth.
  • Strong experience managing operational risk and compliance within regulated environments.
  • Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed teams and influence stakeholders at all levels. 

Skills & Capabilities

  • Strategic thinking with a strong commercial mindset.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and profit management.
  • Experience implementing operational improvement and business transformation initiatives.
  • A customer-centric approach with a focus on delivering exceptional outcomes. 

Qualifications

  • Preferred to have Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Healthcare Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience within healthcare, medical supplies, medical technology, or a highly regulated industry is highly desirable.
