About this role

Who We Are

Monomi Park, headquartered in San Mateo, CA, are the creators of Slime Rancher and Slime Rancher 2, both critical and commercial successes with over 27 million players worldwide. Monomi Park is committed to creating inclusive and innovative gaming experiences that defy expectations. We are small but mighty with 40+ team members scattered across the US (with some international team members). There’s something new on the horizon for the studio, but we can’t let you in on the secret just yet. The success of the Slime Rancher series has put us in a special spot among indies, where we can continue to make games on our own terms while offering the benefits usually limited to larger studios. As an independent studio, our goals are to be people-first and develop unique games to delight and inspire players.

The Challenge

We’re looking for an in-person Office Coordinator for our office in San Mateo, CA. This role keeps our office running and makes it a place people enjoy coming to. You will manage facilities, plan a variety of team events, handle invoicing and team reimbursements, and act as the first point of contact for anything that keeps the Studio functioning smoothly.

The Office Coordinator will:

  • Manage day-to-day office operations, including facilities, vendor relationships, mail and serving as the main point of contact for anything office-related
  • Keep the office tidy and stocked, from restocking supplies to housekeeping tasks like unloading the dishwasher
  • Plan, coordinate and host various in-person and remote team events end-to-end, handling logistics, travel, gifts and staying within budget
  • Process invoices and track the budget, flagging issues and keeping records up to date
  • Support COO in weekly meetings prep and managing internal reimbursement programs
  • Support HR with various tasks such as coordinating interviews, maintaining employee data and assisting with various projects
  • Other duties as assigned

To succeed, you should have:

  • 1+ year(s) of relevant office administration experience
  • Reliable transportation + a valid driver's license
  • A proactive, self-directed working style with strong organizational skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including comfort interacting with vendors and leadership
  • Proficient with technology tools, including Excel, Google Workspace and Slack

Bonus points if you have:

  • 2+ years of relevant office administration experience
  • An eye for detail and a genuine interest in planning thoughtful events
  • An affinity for art or graphic design (as a nice extra for bringing creative touches to employee events)
  • Basic budget or bookkeeping knowledge
  • A love for video games!

Don’t check every box above? Research shows that while some apply when they meet ~60% of the criteria, candidates from marginalized groups, particularly within our industry, do not. If you think you have what it takes to do the job and can provide the materials necessary for the application, apply! Monomi Park strives to be an inclusive workplace for people of all backgrounds.

The starting base pay salary range is $75,000 - $85,000 + target annual bonus. The final base pay will be determined by individualized factors such as candidate location, skills and level of experience.

As a small studio, we pride ourselves on offering competitive benefits. This includes:

  • Competitive compensation based on industry standards along with annual performance bonus
  • Fully covered medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage for you and 90% coverage for your dependents
  • 401(k) with company match and no vesting schedule
  • Flexible PTO, parental leave, compassionate leave (bereavement leave with more flexibility) and paid holidays including winter break
  • Remote work stipends, wellness funds, anniversary rewards and company-wide events

The Application Process

  2. Phone screen
  3. In-person interview with the Hiring Manager
