Inspect and monitor all surface preparation and coating application activities on plant equipment, piping, structural steel, pressure vessels, and storage tanks across the QAFCO fertilizer complex Verify surface preparation standards (Sa 2.5 / SSPC-SP10) including blast cleaning, profile measurements, and cleanliness levels prior to coating application Monitor wet and dry film thickness (WFT/DFT), holiday testing, adhesion testing, and coating curing in accordance with approved painting procedures and manufacturer specifications Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and coating Material Data Sheets (MDS); ensure coating systems meet QAFCO and client specifications Identify coating defects such as pinholes, delamination, blistering, and disbondment; issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions Coordinate with contractors, maintenance teams, and QAFCO representatives during shutdown/turnaround to ensure coating work is executed on time and to specification Maintain detailed inspection records, daily reports, and coating logs in compliance with QAFCO documentation and HSE requirements Requirements Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering, or related discipline NACE Level 2 (Coating Inspector) or BGAS Grade 2 certification (mandatory) 5–7 years of hands-on coating inspection experience in the Oil & Gas or Fertilizer industry; ammonia/urea or petrochemical plant experience is highly preferred Proven plant experience including shutdown/turnaround coating inspections, high-temperature insulation coating, and CUI (Corrosion Under Insulation) assessment In-depth knowledge of international coating standards: SSPC, NACE, ISO 8501, ISO 8502, ISO 8503, and ISO 19840 Experience reviewing and approving ITPs, painting procedures, and material submittals in a QAFCO or similar operating environment Familiarity with SAP PM or equivalent CMMS for maintaining inspection records and coating history Candidates available to join immediately are strongly preferred
