As a Patient Access Representative, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming, seamless experience for patients, families and visitors from the moment they arrive through the completion of their visit. You will support patients with registration, information gathering, insurance verification and payment collection, while helping ensure each interaction reflects Cleveland Clinic’s commitment to outstanding service. This role also offers a strong foundation for career growth within Customer Service and throughout Cleveland Clinic.

EPIC Training Requirement:
Your first two weeks will include mandatory EPIC training, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., held onsite at Stow Health and Wellness. Attendance is required for the full duration of the training. Following successful completion of training, you will transition to your assigned schedule and shift. To be considered for this position, you must acknowledge that you are available to attend all days of the required two-week training.

A caregiver in this position works evenings, 3:00pm—11:00pm. Every other weekend and holiday. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Perform registration and obtain information about demographics, insurance, medical and financial.  

  • Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED and cash register.  

  • Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers.  

  • Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic.  

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience in a customer-facing role  

  • OR Associate’s Degree and one year of experience  

  • OR Bachelor’s Degree 

  • Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders OR completion of course within one year 

  • Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems 

  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. 

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.  

  • Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment.  

  • In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system.  

  • In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
