To greet patients and ensure all information is gathered for efficient encounters and billing outcomes.

  • Practice Manager

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Supervisory Responsibilities: NO

Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred  

License/Certification Required: None

Minimum Work Experience: 1-2 years in Medical Office setting preferred  

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with patients, families, providers, and coworkers.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn electronic medical record and scheduling systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Check patients in and out for scheduled appointments accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify and update patient demographic, insurance, and contact information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Collect copayments, deductibles, outstanding balances, and issue receipts in accordance with clinic policies.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments following provider scheduling guidelines.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally, directing calls and messages to the appropriate staff.
  • Assist patients with completing required registration and consent forms.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all required documentation is obtained prior to the visit.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to promote efficient patient flow and communicate delays or scheduling concerns.
  • Respond to patient questions regarding appointments, office procedures, and general clinic information.
  • Protect patient privacy by maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Resolve routine patient concerns professionally and escalate issues to leadership when appropriate.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
  • Complete required organizational training and maintain competency in applicable systems and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Light lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 10-20 lbs occasionally and frequent moving of objects of less than 10 lbs is required. Frequent sitting with some walking, standing, squatting, bending and reaching is required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
