About this role

RLB People is partnering with our client, a growing and successful agriculture-based business, to hire a Payroll and Benefits Specialist for its team in Minto, Ontario. This is an existing, currently vacant position that plays a critical role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while supporting benefits administration and key HR processes.

This is a hands-on payroll role in a complex, deadline-driven environment. The successful candidate will manage high-volume weekly payroll across 16 payroll reporting segments, including manual piecework calculations. Strong payroll experience, particularly with manual piecework calculations, is essential. What You Will Do

• Process accurate and timely high-volume weekly payroll using ADP payroll software across 16 payroll reporting segments.

• Complete and verify manual piecework calculations, investigate discrepancies and ensure earnings are accurately reflected in each payroll cycle.

• Administer benefit and group RRSP programs, including enrolments, plan changes, terminations and remittances.

• Reconcile benefit and WSIB accounts at month-end and prepare related reports and supporting documentation.

• Respond promptly and professionally to employee and manager questions regarding payroll, benefits and expenses.

• Complete year-end payroll reconciliations and support the accurate production of T4s and other required tax documents.

• Maintain complete payroll records for legislative, internal control and external audit requirements.

• Identify and implement improvements to payroll workflows, controls and documentation.

• Partner with Human Resources to process new hires, terminations, wage changes, vacation accruals and other employee updates accurately and on time.

• Provide administrative HR support, including offer letters, onboarding documentation, reporting and other records as required.

What You Bring

• Experience with payroll reconciliations, year-end processing, benefits administration and audit support.

• Experience with ADP or comparable payroll software, plus proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• High degree of accuracy, discretion and respect for confidential employee and business information.

• Excellent organization, prioritization and time-management skills, with the ability to meet non-negotiable weekly deadlines.
