About this role

Pediatric Private Duty Nurse (PDN) – RN/LPN – 1:1 Ratio

Looking for a nursing job where you're supported, valued, and appreciated — not just told you are? At Phoenix Home Care & Hospice, our promises aren't just spoken, they're signed.

We're hiring RNs and LPNs for 1:1 pediatric private duty cases in Mount Vernon, Missouri. You'll work one-on-one with a child or young adult in their home, providing the kind of focused, skilled care that's nearly impossible to deliver in a facility setting.

The Details

  • 1:1 patient ratio — one nurse, one patient, every shift
  • Multiple pediatric cases currently open in the Mount Vernon area, so we can often match you to a schedule that fits your life — days, nights, or weekends
  • Cases vary in acuity; many involve trach, ventilator, or G-tube care, so experience with complex pediatric needs is a plus
  • Pay discussed at interview and based on experience

Perfect for You If You're…

  • A hospital nurse craving meaningful, one-on-one care instead of a six-patient assignment
  • A student nurse looking for flexible, hands-on experience
  • Semi-retired and wanting rewarding, part-time work on your terms

What You'll Do

  • Provide 1:1 skilled nursing care to a pediatric or young adult patient in their home
  • Manage complex care needs, which may include trach/vent management, G-tube feeding, and related monitoring
  • Build a real relationship with one family who will come to know and rely on you

Why Nurses Choose Phoenix

  • 24/7 on-call support, so you're never navigating a tough case alone
  • Orientation and hands-on training to set you up for success from day one
  • Team events that celebrate and recognize the work you do
