Would you like to be part of an innovative company with a significant social impact? Innovamat is looking for someone like you.

About Innovamat

Innovamat is an educational organization specializing in mathematics education. Founded in Barcelona in 2017, Innovamat provides schools with a complete, research-based math program covering Early Childhood through Secondary Education, grounded in research across mathematics education, cognition, and neuroscience.

Innovamat also partners with leading thinkers and researchers in mathematics education, including Peter Liljedahl, author of Building Thinking Classrooms, and Brian Butterworth, a leading researcher in mathematical cognition and dyscalculia, bringing world-class expertise and perspectives into our broader work.

Our program integrates curriculum, teacher training, assessment, and intervention into a single coherent system. Today, Innovamat is present in 9 countries, partnering with 27,000+ teachers across 2,800+ schools and reaching more than 600,000 students. We are one of the few organizations in the sector with independently validated efficacy data from external research institutions, and the first non-American organization to pass the California State Board of Education adoption process for a core math curriculum.

About the Role

We’re looking for a People Lead to help shape and strengthen our People function in the United States.

This is a high-ownership role at the intersection of people strategy, leadership, employee experience, and organizational development. You’ll work closely with U.S. leadership, managers, employees, and our Global People team to build the structures and practices that enable our people and organization to thrive.

We’re looking for a builder: someone who enjoys starting with a blank page, brings structure to ambiguity, and turns ideas into practical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

People Strategy & Business Partnership

  • Partner with U.S. leadership and managers on people priorities and organizational needs.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers across the employee lifecycle.

  • Translate business priorities into practical People strategies and initiatives that strengthen the organization and support its goals.

Employee Experience & Development

  • Own onboarding, engagement, performance management, training and development, and succession planning.

  • Partner closely with managers and employees on people matters, employee relations cases, performance conversations, and other key moments across the employee lifecycle.

  • Turn employee feedback and survey data into meaningful actions that strengthen the employee experience.

People Operations

  • Ensure People processes, policies, and practices are effective, consistent, and aligned with U.S. requirements and employee needs.

  • Own the U.S. benefits experience, serving as the main point of contact for employees, helping them understand their benefits and supporting them with questions, changes, and issues.

  • Continuously improve internal People processes, systems, and ways of working, partnering with People Ops and other teams to ensure a smooth employee experience.

Strategic Projects

  • Lead high-impact People projects from problem definition through execution.

  • Build scalable programs and processes as the organization evolves.

  • Use data and insights to identify opportunities and improve organizational effectiveness.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • 3- 5 years of experience in People/HR, People Business Partnering, People Operations, or a similar role.

  • Experience partnering closely with senior leaders and managers.

  • Experience across performance, engagement, development, employee relations, and other areas of the employee lifecycle.

  • Experience in an international or U.S. organization is a strong plus.

  • Experience building People processes, programs, or teams from scratch is highly valued.

  • We’re especially excited about people coming from management consulting, early-stage startups, high-growth companies, technology, marketplaces, or other data-driven commercial environments. Entrepreneurial experience is a big plus: if you’ve founded a company, built a project from scratch, or taken significant ownership of a new initiative, we’d love to hear from you.

Skills

  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect people initiatives to organizational outcomes.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.

  • Analytical and data-driven approach to People decisions.

  • Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to navigate complex situations.

  • Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and resourceful.

Mindsets You Embody

  • We aim high: You set ambitious goals and constantly look for ways to raise the bar.

  • We are owners: You take responsibility for outcomes and follow things through.

  • We move fast: You’re comfortable with ambiguity and know when to act, test, and iterate.

  • We are eager to learn: You’re curious, ask questions, and constantly look for better ways to work.

  • We are humble: You care more about finding the right answer than being right.

  • We enjoy the ride: You bring positive energy, resilience, and enthusiasm to the work.

Beyond our values, we’re looking for someone who is entrepreneurial, highly curious, people-oriented, analytical, hands-on, and excited to build something meaningful.

What You’ll Get

  • The opportunity to shape the People function in the U.S. at an international organization with a meaningful social mission.

  • Direct partnership with U.S. leadership and the Global People team.

  • Meaningful ownership and the opportunity to see your work translate into real organizational impact.

  • A collaborative, international environment with plenty of room to grow.

  • 5% 401(k) match.

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.

  • 22 days PTO plus our company Christmas shutdown.

  • Team offsites and travel opportunities.

If you think you are that person we are looking for, we would love to meet you!
