The Pharmacy Assistant supports the daily operations of the community pharmacy by assisting with customer service, medication preparation, stock management, and maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy environment. The role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and previous experience working in a community pharmacy. Key Responsibilities Welcome and attend to customers in a professional and courteous manner. Assist in processing prescriptions under the supervision of the pharmacist. Prepare and package medications for dispensing. Receive, arrange, and replenish stock on shelves. Monitor stock levels and report low stock or expired products. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked pharmacy environment. Process sales transactions and issue receipts where required. Respond to customer enquiries and refer clinical questions to the pharmacist. Ensure compliance with pharmacy policies and standard operating procedures. Support the pharmacist with day-to-day administrative and operational tasks. Requirements Minimum of OND, or equivalent qualification. At least 1 year of prior experience working in a community pharmacy is required. Good understanding of community pharmacy operations and over-the-counter (OTC) products. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer literacy and experience using a Point of Sale (POS) system is an added advantage. Professional appearance, integrity, and a positive attitude.
