PIM Associate Principal

We invest in exceptional founders and support them with capital, expertise and networks to scale. We are looking for a Post Investment Associate Principal to manage and grow a portfolio of impact investments for an industry leading Impact Fund managed by Edge Growth Ventures. Be able to run with the day-to-day portfolio management responsibilities, portfolio value creation and the strategic oversight and ownership of the active portfolio and underlying SMEs. Key Responsibilities: Strong and Collaborative Leadership · Deliver value-added assistance to portfolio companies, and support team with their portfolio companies in: o Detailed financial analysis / modelling o Assistance in strategy development o Execution management o Business building support o Access to new markets o Raising capital · Assume full responsibility for the allocated investee/s from deal team handover to exit. · Help ensure that financial reporting, systems and processes of investees within the portfolio meet required standards across the portfolio. · Develop and deliver special projects to unlock value across the portfolio, including company restructures and turnarounds. · Preparation of regular portfolio updates to the relevant stakeholders, and represent the Fund Manager in stakeholder meetings presenting on the Portfolio. · Own the preparation, oversight, and critical review of follow-on funding requests from portfolio companies, including preparations and investment proposals to the Investment Committee, assessing rationale, structure, timing and mandate fit. · Drive performance and meet scorecard targets for the Portfolio. · Assist in the preparation of consolidated portfolio review reports / dashboards. Monitoring and Compliance · Assist with the preparation of all monitoring & compliance related information and deliverables of the portfolio. Legal · Ensure effective management of investee company non-compliance and recommendation for enforcement & / or rectification. · Oversee the legal resources for any PM-related legal amendments within the portfolio. Governance · Ensure effective governance and best practice within investees companies. · Help ensure effective governance at a Fund Level. Growth Support · Provide oversight and ownership of all Growth Support initiatives and interventions, and take a portfolio wide strategic focus. Operations and Admin · Assist in improving internal; processes, procedures and policies to improve portfolio management delivery within the underlying Fund. Requirements Qualifications · An MBA, CA(SA) or CFA degree would be advantageous · Postgraduate degree with a strong problem solving (e.g. Engineering, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Finance, Business Science, BSC), and / or finance underpinning Experience · Primary: +5 years Impact / Venture capital investing experience, preferably in the post-investment environment. · Secondary: 5+ years in a non-post-investment role in Audit, private equity or related.
