Job Title: Piping Designer Location: Oman Experience Required: Minimum 5 Years Role Overview: A Piping Designer is responsible for developing detailed piping layouts and designs for industrial projects such as oil & gas, petrochemical, and infrastructure facilities. The role involves converting engineering concepts into precise drawings and 3D models while ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed piping layouts, isometric drawings, and general arrangement (GA) drawings Develop 2D and 3D piping models using design software Interpret P&IDs, equipment layouts, and engineering specifications into accurate designs Ensure proper routing of pipelines considering safety, accessibility, and maintenance Perform pipe stress considerations in coordination with stress engineers Prepare material take-offs (MTO) and bill of materials (BOM) Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation) Review vendor drawings and integrate equipment details into piping design Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.) Identify and resolve design clashes using clash detection tools Modify and update drawings based on project changes and site feedback Assist during site visits for verification and implementation support Maintain proper documentation of drawings, revisions, and project records Essential Qualifications: Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Minimum 5 years of experience as a Piping Designer in oil & gas or industrial projects Experience in EPC projects will be an added advantage Skills Required: Strong knowledge of piping design principles and standards Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, PDMS, E3D, Plant 3D, or SP3D Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and engineering drawings Knowledge of pipe routing, supports, and materials Familiarity with international codes (ASME, API, ISO standards) Good understanding of equipment layout and piping interface Strong coordination and communication skills Problem-solving and analytical thinking ability Attention to detail and accuracy
