Job Description:
Responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems. Ensures proper functioning and safety of plumbing infrastructure. Inspects systems for leaks, defects, and compliance with regulations. Maintains accurate records of repairs and installations. Supports efficient operation and reliability of facility systems.
• Reviews building plans and drawings to determine installation requirements and sequence.
• Inspects structures to identify obstructions and ensure structural integrity during installation.
• Marks locations for pipes, connections, and passage holes in walls and floors.
• Cuts openings and prepares surfaces to accommodate pipes and fittings.
• Cuts, threads, and bends pipes to specified dimensions using appropriate tools.
• Assembles and installs pipes, valves, and fittings using various joining methods and materials.
• Tests pipe systems for leaks using water or air pressure and interprets gauge readings.
• Installs, repairs, and maintains plumbing fixtures and appliances.
• Performs welding and secures fixtures to structural members as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent and vocational/technical training in relevant area
No work experience required
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
All experience must be paid and in the same related field.
Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.
Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
