Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Selects a specific research project and conducts the project semi-independently under the mentorship of Inova staff and collaborating mentors.
Assists in preparing manuscripts for publication in professional journals and presentations at professional meetings.
Contributes to large projects and/or leads smaller research projects.
Meets regularly with mentor to discuss progress on research projects to identify and resolve any difficulties carrying out their work.
Assists in coordinating outreach programs for persons with Parkinson's disease.
Assists in teaching neuroscience, motor control, and/or aging-related courses.
Gives presentations at appropriate meetings, conferences, and seminars.
Required Minimum Qualifications
PhD in Neuroscience or equivalent degree
Preferred Qualifications:
One year of human subjects research experience
One year of experience working with persons with Parkinson’s disease
Department Unit/Website:
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
