A Day in the Life

We are seeking a strategic, analytical, and business-focused analyst to drive the transformation of Master Data capabilities across the Global Service & Repair organization. As the primary liaison between Service & Repair, enterprise Master Data Management (MDM), and Data & AI teams, this role will ensure business priorities are effectively translated into structured demand, aligned with enterprise data governance, standards, and platforms.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in establishing scalable, standardized, and high-quality data foundations that support operational excellence, platform scalability, and data-driven decision-making. By partnering closely with business stakeholders, IT, MDM, and Data & AI teams, this individual will drive cross-functional alignment, strengthen data governance and accountability, and ensure Service & Repair requirements are effectively prioritized and delivered through the enterprise data operating model.

This role will champion improvements in data quality, process adoption, and business value realization while helping to build a consistent and future-ready Master Data landscape across platforms such as Windchill (PLM), SAP MDG/Fiori, and SAP ECC/S/4. Combining strategic thinking, strong execution capabilities, and exceptional stakeholder management, the ideal candidate will challenge the status quo, drive sustainable Master Data solutions, and enable the organization to leverage data as a strategic asset to improve efficiency, scalability, and commercial performance.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Serve as the primary business liaison between Global Service & Repair, enterprise Master Data Management (SAP MDG), Data & AI, and IT teams, ensuring business priorities are aligned with enterprise data governance, standards, and strategic roadmaps.
  • Translate Service & Repair strategic objectives into structured Master Data and analytics demand, capturing, prioritizing, and communicating business requirements to MDM, Data & AI, and delivery teams.
  • Drive the transformation of Master Data capabilities by identifying opportunities to improve data quality, governance, standardization, scalability, and business process effectiveness across the Service & Repair organization.
  • Lead cross-functional analysis of business processes, data structures, and system interactions to identify gaps, inefficiencies, optimization opportunities, and data quality improvements across platforms including SAP, SAP MDG/Fiori, Windchill (PLM), and ServiceNow.
  • Support Product Owner and Business Analyst activities, including requirements gathering, stakeholder alignment, backlog refinement, business case development, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and business readiness planning.
  • Act as the key interface between business and technology teams, ensuring Master Data and analytics solutions are aligned with business needs, enterprise standards, and long-term platform strategies.
  • Drive Master Data governance, ownership, stewardship, and lifecycle management practices by partnering with business and functional stakeholders to establish clear accountability and sustainable processes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders across regions and functions to ensure consistent adoption of standardized data definitions, governance frameworks, and business processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate data quality, process performance, adoption, and business value realization, leveraging analytics and reporting capabilities to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Lead change management and delivery activities for Master Data initiatives, including impact assessments, communication, training alignment, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and successful implementation of business and technology solutions.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience working within SAP environments, including exposure to SAP MDG, SAP MM, SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA, with the ability to translate business requirements into sustainable data and process solutions.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Master Data Management platforms and enterprise systems, including SAP MDG, SAP ECC/S/4HANA, Windchill (PLM), ServiceNow, and related Master Data integrations.
  • Experience working with Data & AI, Analytics, Reporting, or Business Intelligence teams in a demand management, business translation, or product delivery capacity.
  • Proven experience leading business process improvement, Master Data, analytics, or digital transformation initiatives, with the ability to bridge business and IT within a structured governance environment.
  • Strong understanding of Master Data Management principles, including data governance, data quality, stewardship, ownership, lifecycle management, and the role of Master Data in enabling scalable business processes and analytics.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality management, data stewardship, and Master Data lifecycle management best practices.
  • Experience working in Agile environments, supporting Product Owners, Business Analysts, and cross-functional delivery teams through backlog management, sprint reviews, testing, and solution implementation.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to align business and technical teams across functions, regions, and organizational levels without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into scalable solutions, while remaining flexible, proactive, and effective in a fast-paced global environment.
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization with cross-functional stakeholders, combined with strong analytical, stakeholder management, communication, and change management skills.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$109,600.00 - $164,400.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
