About this role

Change the world. Love your job.
Texas Instruments is seeking an experienced Process/Equipment Engineer specializing in Switched Reluctance Machine (SRM) Integration and Test Handler Setup. This senior-level position is critical to advancing our electric motor testing capabilities and ensuring manufacturing excellence in our power electronics and motor control product lines.

As the technical lead for SRM test handler systems, you will be responsible for all aspects of the integration test process, from equipment selection and installation to process optimization and technical support. You will work at the intersection of power electronics, motor testing, and manufacturing automation to deliver robust, reliable test solutions.

In this semiconductor engineer role with Texas Instruments' worldwide manufacturing organization, you will be responsible for engineering process optimization efforts to achieve fab cycle time goals. You will interface with various modules, in addition to yield, product and integration teams, to resolve issues that limit yield performance.

Responsibilities include:

SRM Integration & Test Handler Setup

  • Design, implement, and optimize test handler setups specifically for Switched Reluctance Machine integration testing

  • Develop comprehensive test procedures for SRM performance validation including torque, speed, efficiency, and thermal characteristics

  • Configure and calibrate test equipment including dynamometers, power analyzers, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition systems

  • Establish baseline performance metrics and acceptance criteria for SRM test handlers

  • Troubleshoot complex integration issues involving motor control systems, power electronics, and mechanical test fixtures

Process Engineering

  • Define and document all aspects of the SRM wafer fabrication and integration test process

  • Compile and evaluate test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process specifications

  • Use statistical methods and data analytics to drive intelligent improvements to the overall testing process

  • Understand process interactions with other fabrication steps to enable accurate product disposition decisions

  • Develop and maintain process documentation, test specifications, and work instructions

Equipment Engineering

  • Evaluate, select, and specify test equipment that is most appropriate and cost-effective for SRM integration testing

  • Oversee installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of test handler equipment

  • Monitor equipment manufacturers' technical notices, upgrades, and safety issues

  • Study equipment performance, reliability, and uptime metrics

  • Establish programs and solutions for increasing test handler availability and throughput

  • Work directly with equipment vendors to sustain and enhance performance from both process and tool perspectives

Technical Leadership & Support

  • Provide expert technical support to manufacturing and operations teams

  • Conduct training for technicians and operators on test handler operation and SRM testing procedures

  • Create training aids, operation specifications, and best practice documentation

  • Lead technical presentations on project status, test results, and improvement initiatives

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design engineering, quality, and production teams

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Investigate non-conforming products and determine root causes

  • Implement corrective and preventive actions for test process issues

  • Drive yield improvement initiatives through systematic problem-solving

  • Participate in Design of Experiments (DOE) and other advanced quality methodologies
