We enable your best to power our future.

Job Description

The Opportunity:

Want to design products where data is the product, and learn from designers who've shipped features used by some of the world's biggest advertisers? At Nielsen, we measure how billions of people watch, listen, and buy across the globe. As a Product Designer, you'll transform this massive, complex dataset into products that media professionals, advertisers, and agencies use to make critical business decisions.

The design challenges: How do we help media planners compare TV and streaming audiences across multiple markets in one view? How do we surface the right insight when they're navigating millions of data points? How do we make cross-media measurement feel intuitive when the underlying logic is complex?

If you love simplifying complexity and understanding user behavior at scale, this role is for you.

What You'll Do:

  • Learn to Simplify Complexity: Work on dashboards, planning tools, and analytics platforms alongside senior designers. You'll learn how to make multi-dimensional data feel simple and design mental models that make complex concepts click.

  • Ship Real Features End-to-End: From wireframes to prototypes to shipped UI, you'll own features that thousands of professionals use daily. Get mentorship at every stage and see your work go live.

  • Design with Actual Behavioral Data: Access real usage analytics from our products. Learn to let data guide your design decisions by seeing exactly how users navigate, where they struggle, and what works.

  • Contribute to Design Systems: Help build and evolve our design system used across Nielsen's global product suite. Learn to think in reusable patterns and scalable components.

  • Collaborate with Experienced PMs and Engineers: Work closely with product managers who understand research and engineers who care about UX. You'll be in the room for product decisions, learning how great products get built.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • Curiosity About Data: You're excited, not intimidated, by working with complex datasets. You want to understand how data flows through products and how design can make it useful.

  • Solid UX Fundamentals: User research, wireframing, prototyping, and interaction design; you know the basics and you're eager to go deeper. You've shipped work before and have a portfolio to show it.

  • Eagerness to Learn: You ask questions, seek feedback, and want to understand not just "what" to design but "why." You're comfortable saying "I don't know" and then figuring it out.

  • Strong Craft: You're proficient in Figma. You have a good eye for typography, color, and layout, and you care about the details and want to keep improving.

  • Team Player Mindset: You collaborate well with others, stay open to feedback and iteration, and are excited to learn from senior designers while contributing your own ideas.

  • Experience: 2-4 years of proven UX/Product Design work. Bonus points for exposure to dashboards, analytics tools, or data-heavy products.

  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio that shows your process, your thinking, and how you approach problems, not just the final output.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent experience. Self-taught designers with strong portfolios are welcome.
