The Story with Martha MacCallum is looking for a proactive Production Assistant with a passion for politics, current events, and breaking news. As a Production Assistant, you will identify and edit the most compelling videos for air while creating informative, catchy graphics that tell stories visually. Your ability to accomplish tasks on a tight deadline will allow you to succeed in this role. A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and edit compelling videos and graphics
Produce guest segments and reporter hits while coordinating with studio and field crews
Pitch story ideas and produce segments
Conduct independent research, analyze, and interpret domestic, international, and political affairs to develop and pitch story ideas to anchor and senior show staff
Research, identify, and help book potential guests for stories
Work alongside team members to produce content for social media
Edit packages
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Strong digital and social media skills
Experience using Dalet
Strong knowledge of news, politics, and current events
Broadcast news experience
Familiarity with iNews, VIZ, and an understanding of building program rundowns
Ability to work well in a fast-paced atmosphere
Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
Flexibility to work various shifts when needed
A motivated, self-starter attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
A Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $19.00-27.65 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
