Objective

Under the general direction of the Facilities Maintenance Manager maintains building and grounds by providing housekeeping, grounds keeping and repair services. 

Essential Responsibilities

• Maintains building interior by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors, and fixtures; washing windows, counters, walls, ceiling, and woodwork; sweeping, scrubbing, and waxing floors; cleaning and vacuuming drapes, furniture, and carpeting; resupplying rest rooms; replacing light bulbs.
• Maintains building accessibility and appearance by picking up papers and trash; removing ice and snow from walkways and parking lot; painting.
• Removes trash by emptying trash containers; transporting materials to disposal area; recycling materials.
• Maintains continuity between shifts by documenting cleaning actions; noting areas requiring additional care or monitoring.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Experience 1+ year

Education: High School or Equivalent

Certifications: N/A

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Previous custodial experience
• Verbal and written communication
• Time management and overall efficiency
• Attention to detail

Travel Required: Negligible

Physical Demand (Special Considerations): While performing the duties of this job, the employee consistently is required to use hands to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk or hear.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
