About this role

We are seeking a Production Planner – Polyurethane to join our manufacturing team in Pinkenba.

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling production activities to ensure customer demand is met while optimising manufacturing capacity, inventory levels and operational efficiency. You will work closely with Production, Supply Chain, Procurement and other key stakeholders to manage production orders, material availability, capacity requirements and delivery priorities.

This is a hands-on planning role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can effectively balance changing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and customer service.

Your responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule production orders based on agreed demand requirements, manufacturing capacity and operational priorities.

  • Manage MRP actions and exception reports for manufactured components while balancing inventory and service requirements.

  • Monitor material availability and proactively communicate or escalate supply constraints that may impact production.

  • Maintain accurate material, plant, routing, method and other relevant master data within ERP systems.

  • Monitor inventory, backorders, lead times and finished goods availability to support customer and business requirements.

  • Work closely with Procurement and Production to resolve purchased-material shortages and urgent customer requirements.

  • Communicate production status, constraints and potential delivery impacts to key stakeholders.

  • Investigate production schedule adherence issues, identify root causes and contribute to corrective and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Support capacity and labour planning across manufacturing work centres and recommend adjustments based on demand.

  • Monitor manufacturing performance and support initiatives to improve throughput, efficiency and service levels.

  • Maintain a strong commitment to FLS quality policies, procedures and standards.

  • Promote a culture of personal and team safety across all operational activities.

  • Support general administrative activities including payroll, training coordination and uniforms as required.

  • Participate in operational improvement projects and other activities as required.

What you bring

  • Previous experience in production planning, manufacturing planning, materials planning or inventory control within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Good understanding of MRP, production scheduling, inventory management and manufacturing processes.

  • Experience working with ERP systems and maintaining accurate planning and master data.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate production and supply issues.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to changing production requirements.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across Production, Procurement, Supply Chain and other business functions.

  • Good attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy and timely delivery.

  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement, safety and quality.

  • Competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Experience within polyurethane, mining equipment, heavy manufacturing or a related industrial environment would be advantageous.
