About this role

We are seeking a Programmer II – Medicaid Core Applications to build, maintain, and support technology solutions critical to healthcare operations. In this role, you will develop reliable programs, databases, interfaces, and reporting solutions tailored to complex business and technical requirements.

Key Details & Work Arrangement

  • Work Model: Hybrid (1 day on-site per week in Phoenix, AZ; 4 days remote).
  • Residency: Candidates must currently reside in Arizona.
  • Work Authorization: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder. No sponsorship is available now or in the future for this temp-to-hire position.

What You Will Do

  • Application Development & Maintenance: Maintain and develop systems, applications, databases, and interfaces using structured development best practices.
  • SDLC Involvement: Participate in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)—from requirements analysis and design to testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Data & System Integration: Analyze files, map data between internal/external systems, and develop/execute unit test plans.
  • SQL & Reporting: Create T-SQL queries, develop ad hoc reports, and support data research requests using SSIS and SSRS.
  • Agile & Scrum Collaboration: Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, retrospectives, backlog management, and cross-team coordination.
  • Technical Documentation & Support: Create program logic flows, data mappings, and technical manuals; assist with production support and troubleshooting application issues.

What You Will Bring

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Overall IT Experience: 3+ years of experience in computer science, information technology, application development, or a related field.
  • Core Technical Experience: 1+ years of hands-on experience with programming, query design, and database development.
  • Database & Tools: Experience with T-SQL, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Frameworks & Control: Hands-on experience with the .NET Framework and source-control platforms like Git.
  • Integrations: Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes and data mapping.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the healthcare industry or directly with Medicaid systems.
  • Hands-on experience with QNXT.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Exposure to artificial intelligence tools or emerging technologies.
