YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

The Project Controls Manager in the renewable energy EPC sector, is responsible to lead cost control, financial reconciliation, risk management for large project. Ensure projects meet financial targets and quality standards from pre-construction to final closeout.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Analyst Management:  Manage the project controls analyst team, support their needs, and train them in all site operations pertaining to the analyst role.

  • Standards Development: Develop expectations and responsibilities for field project controls personnel.

  • Productivity Reporting: Assist the Director in developing a productivity report that will be reported on a weekly basis to upper management and oversee that specific reporting.

  • Problem Solving: Solve complex financial and operational problems uncovered by the analysis team.

  • Cost Allocation & Back charges: Verify proper tracking across all project cost codes and verify coding against work orders.

  • Budget Reconciliation: Reconcile project budgets against actual dollars spent continuously.

  • Variance Reporting: Review the CAC for accuracy and variances prior to the monthly CAC meetings while analyzing project cost variances against baselines regularly.

  • Root-Cause Analysis: Identify financial discrepancies and offer corrective actions. Prepare reporting for the root cause of large overruns.

  • Forecast Accuracy: Update Estimate-at-Completion models using field progress data.

  • Risk & Change Management: Identify financial and operational risks early, evaluate subcontractor and owner change orders for cost impact, maintain the project legal and back charge log, and mitigate potential claims against project contingency.

  • Strategic Growth: As the Project Controls department matures, this role will champion new initiatives, scale existing governance frameworks, and absorb advanced portfolio analytics functions.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Advanced capability to diagnose issues and implement solutions from analytical data.

  • Technical Cost Control: Expert knowledge of project-wide cost breakdown structures, comprehensive cost coding, and back charge workflows.

  • Leadership Experience: Proven ability to manage, train, and develop a team of financial or cost analysts.

  • Site Experience: Proven track record of successfully collaborating with remote or on-site project teams.

  • Software Skills: Expert in cost-tracking software, advanced Excel/Power BI, and ERP systems.

  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of financial reconciliation, Earned Value Management, and contract types.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or construction management, or Engineering or 10 + years of direct project controls, project management within the EPC sector.

  • Experience: 10 years of heavy cost controls, field support, project management or billing management experience in EPC or construction with at least 5 years on renewable energy products.

  • Certifications: PMP or EVP is a +

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning

  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

Pay Range

$125,900.00-$165,200.00 Annual

The pay range for this role is what we expect to pay for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this job description. Candidate’s pay can vary based on location, job-related experience, skills, and education.
