Background

Leadership For Skilled Education Foundation (branded as Leadership for Equity, LFE) is a non-profit organisation based in Pune, Maharashtra, working to strengthen India’s public education system so that every child learns and thrives. We envision public education systems that refuse to let children down.

LFE partners with state and district governments across multiple states—including Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Haryana—to improve teaching practices and build sustained academic support structures within the public system. Our work is anchored in the belief that public education systems are the gatekeepers of social equity, and strengthening them is essential to ensuring that every child has access to strong foundational and future-ready learning.

Approach

LFE’s systems-change approach focuses on improving classroom practice and enabling government ownership through three core levers:

Co-creating high-quality curricular resources and building teacher capacity
Developing academic leadership to coach and mentor teachers
Providing data-driven advisory support and policy implementation guidance

Our model empowers teachers as instructional leaders and embeds long-term support through government-run mentor cadres, continuous classroom observation cycles, and in-system academic structures. Technology plays a critical role, including an in-house Classroom Observation App for real-time monitoring and a WhatsApp-based teacher support chatbot for contextual resource delivery.

The approach is iterative and context-responsive, grounded in classroom realities and tailored to state and district needs. Implementation varies across geographies—whether working directly with teachers or through government-appointed mentors—ensuring relevance and feasibility within existing structures. A continuous feedback loop of training, observation, and coaching moves beyond one-time interventions toward sustained practice change. All programs are co-designed and co-implemented with government partners to ensure scale, sustainability, and systemic ownership, ultimately leading to improved student learning outcomes in foundational and future literacy.

Job Description and Responsibilities

The Project Coordinator, Engagement & Reach (Future Literacy Initiatives) is the driving force behind FLI’s outreach and awareness footprint — expanding how many students, teachers, and schools experience AI and digital literacy, beyond the depth-focused CS Lab cohort.

In this role, you will identify and onboard high-potential government schools, deliver Hour of AI sessions, Canva trainings, and Career Tours to students and teachers, and build the district- and state-level government partnerships needed to run these as large-scale campaigns rather than one-off events. You will also be responsible for capturing the stories and data that prove this reach translates into real impact.

Role Snapshot

Cycle: July to June (Full Academic Year commitment)
Coverage: Multi-district / multi-block reach across assigned geography
Target Cohort: Students (Grades 5–10) and teachers/school leaders
Core Activities: Hour of AI campaigns, Canva trainings, Career Tours, government partnership-building

The responsibilities are as follows:

1. Campaign Implementation & School Onboarding (45%)

School Shortlisting: Identify and shortlist government schools with high student strength and functional computer labs, prioritizing sites where a single session can reach the most students.
Hour of AI Delivery: Plan and conduct Hour of AI sessions for students across shortlisted schools, following the FLI campaign playbook.
Canva Training Delivery: Conduct Canva training sessions for students and teachers, building comfort with design and digital creation tools.
Career Tours: Organize and facilitate Career Tour sessions that expose students to future-ready career pathways in technology and design.
Logistics & Readiness: Coordinate school-level logistics — lab access, timetable slots, device readiness — to ensure zero loss of session time.

2. Partnerships & Campaign Scale-Up (30%)

Government Partnerships: Build and sustain relationships with district- and state-level education officials (BEOs, CRCs, ZP/TDD officials, and equivalent state bodies) to secure endorsement and access at scale.
District & State Campaigns: Design and drive AI literacy campaigns at the district and state level, using government channels to trigger top-down rollout across school clusters.
School & HM Advocacy: Work directly with Headmasters and school staff to secure buy-in and protect scheduled session time.

3. Storytelling & Documentation (15%)

Story Capture: Record student and teacher stories and testimonials that capture the shift from tech consumers to creators.
Media Documentation: Capture high-quality photos and videos of sessions and student work for internal and donor-facing communication.

4. Data Management & Reporting (10%)

Data Tracking: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of schools covered, sessions conducted, and student/teacher reach across all activities.
Reporting: Support the reporting manager with monthly progress reports, reach metrics, and campaign updates for internal and government stakeholders.
Cross-Learning: Participate in monthly LFE reflection spaces to share ground learnings and campaign strategies with the core design team.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

Graduation in any discipline; a background in Education, Mass Communication, Design, or Computer Science/IT is a plus.
1–2 years of experience in training/facilitation, community or government outreach, campaign coordination, or public speaking.
Prior experience engaging government stakeholders (school, block, or district level) or running large-group training sessions.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

Fluency in the regional language of the assigned state is mandatory for daily communication with government teachers, students, and officials. Good functional English is required for internal documentation.
Solid foundational comfort with computers, Google Suite/MS Excel, and working knowledge of (or willingness to learn) Canva, CodeAI, and basic AI literacy tools.
High energy and confidence to run large-group sessions with students, teachers, and school leaders.
Strong interpersonal skills to build trust quickly with school staff and government officials across multiple, unfamiliar schools.
Willingness to travel extensively across districts/blocks, and the resourcefulness to handle last-minute schedule or logistics changes.

Location and Compensation

Location: Pune, Vijayawada. Field-based; extensive travel across assigned districts/blocks

Compensation: Apart from being a part of a young and dynamic learning team, the individual will receive a healthy compensation at par with the non-profit sector benchmark for this position, commensurate with the individual’s prior experience and qualifications. The current compensation band offered, based on fit and experience, is 3.6 to 4.2 lakh INR per annum CTC.
