Project Engineer (Thailand)

About this role

  • Able to work on-site from Monday to Friday, including weekends and public holidays when required.
  • Participate in site surveys together with the design team, with the ability to accurately read and interpret both 2D and 3D engineering drawings.
  • Supervise on-site Solar PV installation to ensure full compliance with engineering drawings, equipment specifications, and relevant industry standards, while maintaining installation quality in line with company requirements.
  • Manage and control project materials, equipment, and site budget to ensure alignment with the BOQ and overall project plan.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams (Project Management, Design, Procurement) to ensure installation progress meets project schedules and quality targets.
  • Liaise with relevant government authorities for permit applications, site inspections, and grid connection processes (MEA/PEA), ensuring full compliance with Thai regulations.
  • Oversee site safety operations and ensure strict compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) requirements under Thai law and internal company standards.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including Weekly Progress Reports, Testing & Commissioning Reports, and As-built drawings, following standard practices in Thailand.
  • Support project planning activities, including installation scheduling in collaboration with the project team.
  • Participate in Testing & Commissioning of Solar PV systems alongside electrical engineers and subcontractors.
  • Identify, coordinate, and resolve on-site technical issues, including installation adjustments, troubleshooting, and risk management.
  • Conduct post-project reviews (post-mortem meetings) to evaluate performance, identify key challenges, and recommend improvements for future projects.
  • Provide support for BOI-related coordination and document control processes.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be eligible to work in Thailand without visa sponsorship. aged 25–30 years, which is a commonly applied hiring range in the Thai job market.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or any related field relevant to solar system installation.
  • Minimum 0–3 years of experience in Solar PV installation, construction site work, or electrical systems, aligning with Thailand’s general market requirements.
  • Ability to read 2D/3D drawings and proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other basic design software.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Word, which is a standard requirement across Thai job listings.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in other provinces as required, such as Chonburi, Korat, or other project locations commonly found in Thai job scopes.
  • Direct experience in Solar Rooftop or Solar Farm installation will be considered an added advantage.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license, which is a frequently stated requirement in Thai engineering job postings.
