PROJECT MANAGER  

Role Overview:  

Join Huntsman's Performance Products (PP) division as a Project Manager at our manufacturing site in Petfürdő, Hungary. In this role, you will lead and coordinate local capital and improvement projects that support operational excellence, safety and site performance. Working closely with Engineering, Production, Maintenance and external partners, you will drive projects from planning through execution and completion. This is a highly visible role requiring strong stakeholder management and project coordination skills across multiple functions. The position reports to the Engineering Manager and requires full-time on-site presence in Petfürdő.

Role Responsibilities: 

As a Project manager, you will be responsible for: 

  • Leading multiple site-based capital and improvement projects, ensuring delivery against scope, timeline, budget and safety requirements.
  • Developing project plans, schedules, cost estimates and business cases to support investment decisions and project approvals.
  • Supporting the annual CAPEX planning process, monitoring project budgets and maintaining accurate investment project records.
  • Managing project governance activities, including gate reviews, approval workflows and project documentation within the Veritas system.
  • Coordinating cross-functional project teams and driving collaboration between Engineering, Production, Maintenance and other stakeholders.
  • Acting as the key project interface for Procurement, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Managing contractor selection processes, supporting contract preparation and ensuring projects are executed in line with safety rules, meeting quality expectations and financial targets.
  • Supporting permitting, regulatory and compliance activities required for project execution and ensuring all required documentation is prepared and maintained.
  • Monitoring project execution, identifying risks and delays, and implementing corrective actions to achieve project objectives.
  • Driving Management of Change (MOC) activities and ensuring project actions are completed in line with agreed timelines.
  • Coordinating project commissioning, start-up activities and successful handover to Operations, including ensuring all required technical and project documentation is completed.
  • Monitoring contractor performance, warranty obligations and post-project activities where required.
  • Providing regular project status updates to site leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with Huntsman's health, safety and environmental standards.

Experience and Competencies: 

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Project Manager who enjoys working in a dynamic industrial environment and has the ability to successfully coordinate people, contractors and projects while delivering safe and sustainable business results.

What we are looking for: 

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience gained within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in chemical, petrochemical, refinery, hazardous materials, manufacturing or automotive environments.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent engineering background.
  • Strong project planning and coordination skills, including experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project.
  • Experience working with contractors and cross-functional project teams.
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety standards and high-risk operating environments.
  • Experience working within Process Safety Management (PSM) environments and understanding of Management of Change (MOC) processes is preferred.
  • Strong experience in contractor management, construction supervision, and coordination of multidisciplinary field activities.
  • SAP knowledge is preferred
  • Very good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple priorities and support project execution during critical project phases.
  • Willingness to work fully on-site in Petfürdő, Hungary.
