Description -

As a Key Account Manager Public Sector, you are responsible for a portfolio of strategic top-tier accounts within Healthcare, Local Government, and Education.

You drive long-term growth by positioning integrated solutions around Security, Workplace Experience (WXP), and lifecycle services, while also maintaining a strong focus on short-term revenue delivery, including hardware and transactional business.

You build executive relationships, develop multi-year account strategies, and ensure HP is positioned as both a strategic partner and a reliable execution partner across all layers of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Account Ownership

  • Own and manage a portfolio of high-value, strategic public sector accounts

  • Develop and execute multi-year account strategies focused on secure digital workplace transformation

  • Balance long-term strategic initiatives with short-term revenue and pipeline commitments

Executive Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships at CIO / CISO / board level

  • Act as a trusted advisor on security, compliance, and workplace strategy

  • Navigate complex governance, procurement, and political environments

Solution Selling: Security & Workplace Experience (WXP)

  • Lead with a consultative, solution-oriented sales approach

  • Position integrated propositions across:

    • Endpoint security

    • Device lifecycle management

    • Managed services

    • Workplace experience (hybrid work, productivity, user satisfaction)

  • Translate customer challenges into clear business outcomes and value cases

Hardware & Transactional Business Ownership

  • Maintain ownership of core hardware business (PCs, devices, peripherals) within assigned accounts

  • Secure short-term revenue, quarterly targets, and volume commitments

  • Ensure strong alignment between device sales and broader solution positioning

Complex Deals & Tender Leadership

  • Lead large, complex sales cycles and public tenders

  • Develop strong win strategies balancing value, price competitiveness, and compliance

  • Ensure end-to-end coordination across all internal and external stakeholders

Ecosystem & Partner Orchestration

  • Build and lead a strong ecosystem of resellers, service providers, and partners

  • Drive joint propositions combining hardware, security, and services

  • Align all parties around one integrated account strategy

Pipeline & Performance Management

  • Own revenue, growth, and profitability targets

  • Build a balanced pipeline:

    • Short-term: transactional & hardware deals

    • Long-term: solution-led opportunities (security & WXP)

  • Ensure accurate forecasting and deal governance

Scope & Impact

  • Manage a limited number of strategic key accounts (high complexity, high value)

  • Responsible for both large multi-year engagements and ongoing business continuity

  • Operate in complex stakeholder environments across IT, procurement, and executive leadership

  • Lead virtual account teams across multiple disciplines

Required Experience & Profile

Experience

  • 5–10+ years of experience in account management or sales

  • Proven experience managing strategic accounts in public sector

  • Strong track record in both:

    • Complex solution selling

    • Transactional / hardware-driven business

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong consultative and solution selling mindset

  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with execution discipline

  • Executive stakeholder management (C-level)

  • Strong commercial ownership and accountability for targets

  • Ability to orchestrate cross-functional teams

  • High awareness of compliance and tender processes
