Job Description

As a Quality Assurance Engineer with OMES you will enjoy:

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for evaluating, testing, and validating software and IT systems to ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards. This role involves designing automated test suites, developing quality standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve software reliability and performance. This position is dedicated to Service Oklahoma.  

 

Job Details

  • Full-time 40-hour work weeks.
  • Support the Information Services Division.
  • Salary is based on education and experience.
  • This is an on-site position located in Oklahoma City, OK.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in project tasks while learning to manage small projects independently.
  • Evaluate, test, and validate IT systems, services, and software.
  • Document issues, track progress, and escalate problems as needed.
  • Execute testing procedures to ensure software meets established quality standards.
  • Prepare data sets for testing logic, error handling, and workflows.
  • Isolate, reproduce, and track defects, then verify fixes.
  • Create and update business processes and test scripts.
  • Work closely with product management, development, and production teams to mitigate quality risks.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Evaluate high-level requirements and identify technical gaps.
  • Develop automated QA test suites for applications.
  • Design test plans, test cases, and scenarios to meet business needs.
  • Work as a QA lead on small or non-complex projects.
  • Escalate issues promptly and work closely with stakeholders.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining system testing documentation.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild. Occasional travel may be required.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education and experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years of work experience in quality assurance or a related field.

 

Preference will be given to candidates who possess

  • Strong knowledge of test strategies, automated frameworks, and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Deployment (CI/CD).
  • Hands-on experience with automated test tools like Selenium, Postman, or Katalon.
