The QC Repair Specialist is responsible for inspecting and evaluating all jewelry items entering and exiting the repairs department to ensure they meet company quality standards. This role performs detailed assessments of craftsmanship, structural integrity, stone security, metal condition, and overall finishing. The specialist documents findings, identifies required repair work, verifies completed repairs, and collaborates closely with technicians, customer service, and quality teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and exceptional product quality.- Inspect incoming repair items to assess condition, identify defects, and determine required repair actions.
- Evaluate issues such as stone loss, loose settings, prong wear, metal damage, sizing needs, structural concerns, and finishing quality.
- Verify product specifications against original order details, including stone type, size, metal, and design attributes.
- Document inspection findings clearly and accurately in internal systems, including photos and detailed notes.
- Communicate repair requirements to technicians and ensure proper routing of items through the repair workflow.
- Perform final QC checks on completed repairs to confirm craftsmanship, durability, and adherence to quality standards.
- Validate stone security, polish quality, structural integrity, and overall appearance before items move to packaging or return.
- Identify recurring issues or trends and escalate concerns to QC or Repairs leadership.
- Collaborate with Customer Service to clarify customer concerns or repair expectations when needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure inspection area with proper handling of high value items.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on repair quality, process gaps, or training needs.
