We're looking for a QA Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team and help build and scale our test automation capabilities using TypeScript and Playwright. You'll design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks, integrate testing into our CI/CD pipelines, and partner closely with developers to drive quality across the SDLC. If you enjoy writing clean test code, solving automation challenges, and driving quality at scale, we'd love to have you on the team.
What You'll Do
Automation & Framework Development
Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks using TypeScript and Playwright for Web, API, and/or Data components
Write, review, and maintain automated test scripts in TypeScript, following clean coding and design patterns
Integrate Playwright test suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) for continuous testing
Identify test cases suitable for automation and prioritize based on risk and impact
Maintain and scale existing Playwright automation suites, refactoring for stability, speed, and maintainability
Debug automation failures, distinguishing flaky tests from genuine defects
Identify, document, and track defects in Jira with clear reproduction steps, logs, and root-cause context
Create and maintain test data and environments to support automated execution
Collaboration & Ownership
Communicate automation coverage, risks, and testing progress clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Own automation for assigned areas and drive improvements with minimal oversight
Collaborate with developers to build testability into features from the start (shift-left testing)
Mentor junior QE team members on TypeScript/Playwright best practices
Quality Practices & AI Tools
Apply and help refine automation standards, coding practices, and code review processes for test code
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog refinement, retros)
Use AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate writing and maintaining Playwright test scripts
Leverage AI tools to generate test case ideas and identify automation opportunities from requirements
Use AI-enhanced search across bug tracking and documentation systems to speed up investigation
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
3–5 years of experience in software testing with a strong focus on test automation
Strong proficiency in TypeScript
Hands-on, production experience with Playwright for test automation
Experience integrating Playwright tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
Solid understanding of SDLC and testing methodologies (functional, regression, integration, API testing)
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Hands-on experience with bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira)
Strong communication skills; ability to work independently and own deliverables
Comfort using GenAI tools (Copilot, Gemini, AI test generators) to accelerate automation and testing workflows
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing Playwright automation frameworks from scratch
Experience with API testing using Playwright's API testing capabilities
Familiarity with containerization/cloud environments (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/Azure/GCP) for test execution
Experience with test management tools (e.g., Xray, TestRail)
Track record of driving automation adoption or improving automation coverage on a team
