$26.75 - $40.00

Position Highlights

This position rotates to all of our Sioux Falls facilites that do Mammo including 7th Ave, 69th and Cliff, and 69th and Western. The position also performs Diagnostic Xray exams.

A Brief Overview

Performs radiologic examinations to allow accurate interpretation for diagnosis. Performs mammography procedures following ACR standards.

What you will do

  • Performs radiographic and Mammography imaging procedures accurately, efficiently and according to established standards and protocols.
  • Determines proper exposure techniques for each exam. Positions equipment for optimal breast imaging views. Safely activates machine while shielded and wears dose monitor badges.
  • Initiates proper intervention to radiologist or referring practitioner when an exam indicates immediate attention.
  • Reviews appropriate indications for exams ordered and reports inappropriate indications to supervisor.
  • Provides exam data in a complete and accurate format for presentation to reading radiologist for interpretation.
  • Utilizes computer systems such as; PACS/RIS/HIS/EMR systems and performs general clerical duties. Archives image data for permanent storage and appropriately sends images to radiologist group. Retrieves stored images from PACS or disc back-up and make CDs successfully. Facilitates transfer of images to be sent to outside facilities for comparison. Assures that reports are sent to outside providers as requested.
  • Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, and environment and infection control.
  • Assists/mentors staff/student on-the-job training and orientation.
  • Assists with analysis, collection and maintenance of records as required by department manager, Quality Improvement, Joint Commission, MDH, ACR standards, OSHA guidelines or as may be required by the facility or law.

Essential Qualifications

The individual must be able to work the hours specified. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Associate's or certificate of completion from an accredited School of Radiology
  • Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire and
  • Mammography (M) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 1 Year

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years Experience as a radiology technologist
