Salary: Up to £35,173.45 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Staff Nurse to join our dedicated Children’s Unit team at The Princess Margaret Hospital, Windsor. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and child-focused environment, delivering high-quality care to children and young people.
 

Our CYP service is continuing to develop, and we are seeking nurses who are passionate about providing safe, effective, and family-centred care while contributing to service improvement and innovation.

This is a part time role for 15 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. 

Duties of this role include:  

  • Deliver age-appropriate, evidence-based nursing care for children across a range of clinical settings.

  • Monitor and respond to changes in condition, escalate concerns, and carry out clinical observations, treatments, and interventions safely.

  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with NMC and organisational guidelines.

  • Work in partnership with families and carers, providing information, reassurance, and emotional support throughout the care journey.

  • Involve parents in care planning and discharge preparation, recognising their role in supporting recovery and wellbeing.

  • Communicate effectively with children of all ages, using appropriate play, distraction, and communication techniques.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:  

  • Registered Nurse (Children / Paediatrics) with valid NMC registration.

  • Experience delivering nursing care to children and young people in hospital or community settings.

  • Strong communication and family liaison skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, emotionally sensitive environment.

  • Understanding of safeguarding, child development, and family dynamics.
