Position Summary
To independently perform and report laboratory findings in accordance with policies and procedures of The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, FDA, CAP, AABB, OSHA, CLIA, and JCAHO regulations to facilitate quality patient care.
Education
Bachelor's degree and certification at the Medical Technologist level (ASCP, AMT, or Equivalent) or Bachelor's degree and categorical certification consistent with the work performed: C, H, I, BB, M (ASCP).
Experience
1 year clinical laboratory experience.
Skills
A Registered Medical Laboratory Technologist demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of clinical laboratory principles, testing methodologies, instrumentation, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements. Possesses strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform and evaluate complex laboratory testing accurately and efficiently. Proficient in laboratory information systems and standard computer applications, with excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills. Able to prioritize workload, work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, troubleshoot technical issues, maintain quality and patient safety standards, and provide training and guidance to students and new staff while demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and sound judgment
