This is a hands-on research role at an early-stage neurotechnology startup working at the intersection of neuroscience, engineering, and medicine. You'll work directly with research participants and cutting-edge neurotech devices, contributing to studies that have real potential to reshape our understanding of brain health and human performance. The work you do here directly influences both the science and the company's direction.
Work directly with research participants during study sessions, prioritizing their safety and comfort while collecting high-quality data.
Operate, test, and maintain cutting-edge neurotechnology devices with precision and care.
Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data to support ongoing research initiatives.
Identify patterns in observations and translate findings into actionable insights for the team.
Help refine research protocols, tools, and operating procedures based on real-world experience.
Collaborate across neuroscience, engineering, medicine, and operations teams to tackle complex problems.
Take ownership of foundational projects that shape the trajectory of the research program.
2+ years of experience in research, clinical, or laboratory environments conducting studies, collecting data, or operating specialized equipment.
Demonstrated ability to work directly with human research participants or patients in clinical or medical settings.
Experience operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining specialized medical or scientific devices and instrumentation.
Proficiency in experimental data collection, organization, and analysis using spreadsheets, databases, or statistical software (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB).
Experience designing, documenting, or improving research protocols and standard operating procedures.
Background in neuroscience, biology, psychology, engineering, medicine, or a related life sciences discipline — or equivalent hands-on research experience.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-urgency environment with multiple concurrent priorities.
Nice to have: familiarity with clinical trial design, IRB/regulatory processes, neurotechnology or brain-computer interfaces, sleep science or sleep medicine, or data visualization tools.
Salary: $80,000 – $120,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
On-site in Boston, MA. This role requires in-person availability six days per week.
