The Retail Sales Leader is responsible for selling, distributing and merchandising Mars Wrigley products at retail outlets (all channels) in an assigned territory. This position is also responsible in managing wholesale and retail chain accounts as assigned in the territory.
*The designated sales territory includes Orangeville, Milton, Fergus, Guelph, and Georgetown*
What are we looking for?
- A Bachelor's degree is considered an asset.
- Proven sales experience, particularly with experience in a field sales capacity, is highly preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
- Ability to secure and maintain vehicle insurance coverage as required by Mars Canada Inc.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 100 km daily for sales calls.
- The role requires sustained physical activity, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and frequent bending, reaching, and other movements associated with field sales.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Manage wholesale and retail chain accounts with NSV targets.
- As required, serve as a Peer Coach for other regional and team members for onboarding tasks.
- Sell in and maintaining distribution of assigned products.
- Responsible for presenting display programs to customers and suggesting order.
- Presenting and selling booking sheets to stores.
- Ensuring all listed product are stocked and properly displayed on shelves with store price tags.
- Replenishing of display fixtures, including Mars Wrigley Canada racks.
- Working with the customer to secure secondary space for building of display.
- Applying POS or other Marketing materials where applicable.
- Product rotation both on-shelf and in backroom to ensure optimal product quality and freshness.
- Maintain appropriate data (customer Info, survey recording, tracking, etc) in field sales data collection software.
- Territory management through customer coverage that involves efficient and effective use of time and resources.
- Plan and organize route schedule according to company call coverage model (frequency and time-in call).
- Keep DSM up-to-date regarding territory activity.
- Maintain an adequate stock of relevant merchandising supplies and POS materials.
- Follow company procedures for processing credits/cheques.
- Build and maintain relationships with key store personnel.
