The Position


Reporting to the Finance function, the Sales Audit Clerk plays a key role in ensuring the integrity of the

organization’s sales-to-cash cycle. The clerk is responsible for the daily, monthly and annual verification

and reconciliation of sales transactions from our stores and web platform, and follows up with various

stakeholders to resolve identified discrepancies and anomalies.


By contributing to the reliability of financial information and the smooth operation of daily activities, the Sales

Audit Clerk works with various data sources and systems. Curious and analytical, they enjoy understanding

why the numbers do not balance, conducting the necessary research and following up until

discrepancies are resolved. Their attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to collaborate with

various stakeholders directly contribute to the quality of financial information.


Responsibilities

·        Perform daily reconciliation of sales and cash receipts from stores and online sales.

·        Verify the accuracy and integrity of data related to sales, deposits, gift cards and various payment methods.

·        Identify and analyze discrepancies between different data sources and conduct the necessary research to determine their cause.

·        Follow up with stores and various internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and issues related to sales and cash receipts.

·        Perform corrections, adjustments, data entry and other required transactions in financial systems.

·        Participate in monthly and annual closing activities related to sales audit.

·        Ensure the proper application of sales taxes in accordance with applicable rules and procedures.

·        Prepare, update and maintain tracking files and documentation required for audit activities.

·        Support the team with as hoc analysis or verification requests from the Finance leadership team.

·        Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team’s processes, controls and tools.



Profile

·        CEGEP-level training in accounting or experience in sales audit.

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·        Demonstrated attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

·        Enjoy conducting research and investigating discrepancies or anomalies to understand and resolve them.

·        Ability to work independently, with resourcefulness and strong organizational skills.

·        Ability to manage multiple files and priorities simultaneously.

·        Comfortable using technology and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

·        Strong communication, collaboration and teamwork skills.

·        Ability to communicate effectively in both French and English, verbally and in writing, in order to follow up with various stakeholders across the country.
