Job Summary: Our client, who is in the metal fabrication and engineering industry, is seeking a dynamic and driven Sales & Operations Manager to lead business development efforts and oversee the day-to-day operations of a newly equipped fabrication workshop. The role combines hands-on sales generation with operational oversight, aiming to turn a high-capacity but underutilized workshop into a revenue-generating business. The ideal candidate should be technically savvy, commercially astute, and eager to work in a performance-driven environment with uncapped commission opportunities. Responsibilities: Develop and execute strategies to generate B2B sales leads in sectors such as construction, mining, OEMs, and infrastructure. Secure government and private sector tenders, RFQs, and long-term contracts for fabrication services. Manage workshop floor operations, including job scheduling, quality control, staff coordination, and production efficiency. Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations based on technical drawings, material usage, labor, and machine time. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including suppliers, contractors, and industry players. Monitor project execution to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery and client satisfaction. Collaborate with senior management to shape pricing strategies, business models, and performance targets. Provide weekly performance reports, sales pipeline updates, and contract status tracking. Requirements Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in sales and operations within the metal fabrication industry. Strong track record in securing contracts for machining, sheet metal bending, welding, or structural steelwork. Technical ability to interpret fabrication drawings and guide clients on solutions. Familiarity with fabrication machinery such as lathes, radial drills, shapers, and shearing machines. Deep understanding of the Tanzanian industrial and infrastructure market. High level of self-motivation, with a hunger for results and commission-based earnings. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with tendering platforms (e.g., GeM, CPP) is a plus.
