We are seeking a talented Backend Developer to build and scale high-performance backend platforms and microservices that power modern, consumer-facing applications. This role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, and cloud-native technologies who enjoy designing reliable, scalable, and secure backend systems.

As a Backend Developer, you will take ownership of backend development from design through deployment, collaborating closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and architects to deliver seamless user experiences. You will play a key role in developing robust APIs, optimizing system performance, implementing scalable microservices, and leveraging AI-assisted development practices to improve engineering productivity and software quality.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend platforms and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring JPA.
• Build secure, high-performance RESTful APIs that support modern, consumer-facing applications.
• Design and implement microservice architectures while following industry best practices for scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
• Develop and optimize relational databases using PostgreSQL, MySQL, and advanced SQL techniques for high-performance applications.
• Implement caching solutions using Redis to improve application responsiveness and efficiency.
• Build and maintain event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS, or similar messaging technologies.
• Deploy, manage, and optimize applications using Docker, AWS ECS, and other cloud-native services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable backend solutions.
• Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement performance tuning and reliability improvements.
• Follow engineering best practices including version control, testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and system monitoring.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software delivery, improve code quality, and enhance engineering efficiency.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 3+ years of experience in backend development or distributed systems engineering.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Spring JPA.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and backend design patterns.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, relational database design, SQL optimization, and performance tuning.
• Practical experience with Redis for caching and high-performance data management.
• Expertise in designing and integrating scalable RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Docker, AWS ECS, and AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda.
• Familiarity with asynchronous messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Amazon SQS.
• Strong debugging, testing, monitoring, and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering reliable production systems.
• Good understanding of Git, code quality standards, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering practices.
• AI-first mindset with hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar technologies to improve development speed and software quality.
