SDET ( Mobile Automation)

Bengaluru, IndiaFull-timeMid · 3-6 years

About this role

We are looking for an Appium Automation Engineer who brings strong hands-on expertise in mobile test automation and a genuine passion for engineering quality at scale. You will own the mobile automation function — building frameworks, debugging complex issues, and ensuring test coverage keeps pace with fast-moving product development. This is a role for someone who thrives in an engineering-first environment and is comfortable working independently.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Must-Have

  • 3–6 years of QA experience with a strong focus on mobile automation using Appium (Android and/or iOS)
  • Hands-on proficiency with Selenium WebDriver — able to build and maintain web automation in parallel with mobile
  • Strong programming skills in Java or Python — able to write clean, modular, well-documented automation code
  • Proven experience designing and building test automation frameworks from the ground up or significantly improving existing ones
  • Ability to read, interpret and debug Appium logs independently to identify root cause of failures
  • Good understanding of mobile application architecture — layouts, views, elements, and platform-specific behaviour (Android vs iOS)
  • Working knowledge of Git — branching, pull requests, code reviews, and version-controlled test repositories
  • Hands-on experience with at least one CI/CD platform — Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of RDBMS and comfort writing SQL queries for data validation within test scenarios

Good to Have

  • Experience building self-serve tools that other QA or engineering team members can use independently
  • Familiarity with performance or accessibility testing on mobile platforms
  • Exposure to cloud-based device farms — BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or AWS Device Farm
  • Experience in a startup or early-stage environment where you have worked across multiple testing areas
  • Contributions to open-source testing tools or internal frameworks shared across teams
