Location: Canadian Coast Guard, James Bay
Reports to: Site Supervisor
Shifts: Evenings and/or overnights
Wage: $21.38/hr - $22.03/hr
Job Responsibilities
- Provide access control, ID checks and regular security foot patrols.
- Proactively respond to and resolve emergency situations and conflicts.
- Complete evacuation and emergency response procedures.
- Communicate problems or concerns to the site supervisor.
- Possess excellent multi-tasking, problem solving, prioritizing and organizational abilities.
- Have knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
- Use a cell phone and write incident reports as needed.
- Perform all duties with high safety standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Have or be able to obtain a Government of Canada level II (Secret) security clearance
- Must have a valid BC Security License
- Must be physically fit and able to walk patrols.
- Must be able to work in a range of weather conditions throughout shift.
- Must be fluent in the English language - written, verbal and reading skills.
- Have excellent attention to detail and incident report writing skills.
- Have excellent problem solving skills with an ability to handle stressful situations in a calm manner.
- Have the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in varying situations.
- Have superior customer service skills.
