Security Investigator

About this role

Position Summary: The Security Investigator is responsible for conducting detailed inquiries into security incidents, losses, and breaches. This role focuses on gathering facts, reviewing historical data, and producing comprehensive, factual investigation reports. While this role requires a sense of urgency, the primary focus is on accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to articulate complex findings into clear written documentation.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Time-Sensitive Investigations: Review, document, and investigate all requested inquiries immediately upon receipt. Must be able to gather facts and conclude investigations within strict deadlines.
  • Forensic Review: Utilize CCTV recording systems to review historical footage, track movements, and secure video evidence related to specific incidents.
  • Reporting: Articulate findings clearly and write detailed, factual investigation reports with a focus on professional grammar, accuracy, and objectiveness.
  • Resource Management: Utilize security tools (including LenelS2 NetBox access logs and CCTV) effectively to achieve the best results during investigations.
  • Communication: Communicate with Leads, Supervisors, Managers, and Clients regarding investigation outcomes and security-related concerns.
  • Operational Support: Assist with regular security officer duties (patrolling, standing post, physical access control) in the event assistance is needed on the floor.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensing: Level 2 Security License preferred; otherwise, must be obtained within a few months of hire.
  • Experience: 2+ years of work experience in Security Investigations, Loss Prevention, or detailed Incident Reporting.
  • Skills: Excellent writing skills are required; must be able to articulate complex facts into clear, written reports quickly.
  • Attention to Detail: Must possess a high level of observation to detect minute details in video footage or written logs.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • CCTV/VMS: Ability to navigate Milestone XProtect to retrieve evidence is preferred.
  • Access Control: Familiarity with LenelS2 NetBox for reviewing access logs.
  • Software: Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail) for report generation.
  • Software Adaptability: Must demonstrate the aptitude to quickly learn and master proprietary internal software and Warehouse Management System (WMS) for tracking logistics and security data.
  • Integrity: Ability to communicate well in straightforward situations and maintain strict confidentiality regarding open investigations.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Language: Bi-Lingual preferred (English and Spanish).
  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Must possess valid driver's license required
  • Must be 21 years of age

At Inmar, compensation reflects our belief in integrity, transparency, and the value of individual contributions. The hiring pay rate for this position is:

$21.00

In addition to base hourly pay, eligible employees in this role may receive: 

  • Safety bonuses based on meeting defined performance and compliance requirements.

  • Shift differentials, where applicable(e.g. for evening or late shifts)
