Role purpose

Play a pivotal leadership role in keeping Northland Shopping Centre safe, secure and prepared. As Security Risk Manager, you'll be the go-to expert for security and emergency management, partnering with centre teams, retailers, security providers and external agencies to deliver a safe and welcoming environment for everyone who visits the centre.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead security and emergency preparedness across Northland Shopping Centre, including training, scenario testing and incident response activities.
  • Manage and influence the performance of the contracted security provider, ensuring compliance with operational standards, training requirements and service expectations.
  • Oversee security incident reporting, investigations, trend analysis and corrective actions to support continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with retailers, Victoria Police, emergency services, community groups and other key stakeholders.
  • Participate in the centre leadership roster, including a 6-and-4 roster pattern and acting as Chief Warden during rostered weekend coverage.

  • Help ensure Northland remains a safe, secure and welcoming destination for customers, retailers and team members.
  • Strengthen the centre's emergency readiness through training, exercises and proactive planning.
  • Drive improved security outcomes through effective contractor management and operational oversight.
  • Use incident data, security trends and risk assessments to identify and implement preventative measures.
  • Foster a strong culture of security awareness and preparedness across centre teams and retailers.

About you

You're a security professional who combines operational expertise, stakeholder engagement and calm decision-making to deliver strong security and emergency management outcomes.
  • Essential: 5+ years' experience in security operations or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of security operations, incident response, emergency response planning and modern security threat management practices.
  • Experience working with CCTV platforms, access control systems and incident management systems.
  • Desirable: Experience within complex, high-foot-traffic environments such as shopping centres, transport hubs, venues, healthcare or similar settings.
  • Desirable: Established relationships or experience working closely with local law enforcement and emergency services stakeholders.
