The opportunity

Are you looking for a role where ambition meets opportunity? Look no further! Hitachi Energy is now hiring a Segment Sales Manager Data Centers for the D-A-CH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).

As our business continues to grow across Europe, the Data Center segment is a key driver of our success. In this role, you will lead the development of the Data Center market across D-A-CH, build strategic customer partnerships, identify new business opportunities, and expand Hitachi Energy’s footprint among hyperscalers, colocation providers, and EPC/consulting partners.

You will combine strategic segment leadership with key account management responsibilities, working closely with local sales teams, global account organizations, and cross-functional stakeholders to align account strategies with regional growth ambitions.

With clear ownership of budget targets, pipeline development, and opportunity management, you will lead capture activities, conduct account reviews, and ensure disciplined sales execution across the region.

How you'll make an impact

  • Develop and execute the Data Center segment strategy for the D-A-CH region to drive market penetration and growth
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key customers and ecosystem partners, leading technical and commercial discussions
  • Create account strategies, sales plans, stakeholder maps, and conduct regular account reviews
  • Understand customer priorities, investment plans, and decision-making structures to identify future opportunities
  • Develop early-stage opportunities in collaboration with cross-functional teams and promote innovative solutions
  • Lead capture teams and strategic “Must Win” pursuits while managing the sales pipeline using global sales methodologies
  • Define and optimize channel strategies while monitoring market trends, competitors, and customer developments
  • Support forecasting, market intelligence, and long-term demand planning activities
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and track segment sales performance

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, combined with relevant experience in Sales, Marketing, Product Management, or Segment Management
  • Several years of proven experience within the Data Center industry or a closely related sector, including direct engagement with hyperscalers, colocation providers, and other key industry stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of electrical transmission and distribution solutions and their application within Data Center environments
  • Established network within the Data Center ecosystem and demonstrated ability to build trusted customer relationships
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful sales strategies for complex, high-value investment projects, from opportunity identification through deal closure
  • Strong technical acumen combined with analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling effective solution development and customer engagement
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders up to C-level, both externally and internally
  • Fluent in English and German, with the ability to work independently in a market leading matrix organization, collaborate across multiple teams, and travel across the D-A-CH region and Europe (approximately 40–50%)
