Location: Hybrid in NYC (3 day in-office requirement)

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in accounting and bookkeeping for small businesses
  • Solid command of core bookkeeping workflows: reconciliation, AP/AR, month-end close, and financial reporting
  • Familiarity with modern accounting software such as Xero, and a willingness to adopt new tools quickly
  • Understanding of US bookkeeping practices and requirements
  • Experience using AI tools in a professional workflow is a plus — genuine enthusiasm for them is a must

Bonus points:

  • Client-facing experience a strong plus
  • CPA a plus

A day in the life and how you’ll make an impact:

  • Support day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of US-based Xero accounting partners and small business clients, delivering accurate, reliable, and timely work
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for accountants and clients — responsive, clear, and service-oriented in every interaction
  • Use AI-powered tools throughout your workflow to speed up and improve the quality of your work
  • Test, evaluate, and help refine AI tools — flagging what works, what doesn't, and where the biggest efficiency gains are
  • Document your learnings, workflows, and best practices so other bookkeepers can adopt them and scale what you've built
  • Partner closely with US leadership to shape how AI-powered bookkeeping serves small businesses
  • You are A bookkeeper who genuinely loves bookkeeping — you take pride in clean books and dependable work
  • Service-oriented to the core: you care about clients and it shows in how you communicate and deliver
  • Energized by efficiency: you're always looking for a better, faster, smarter way to work

About the team:

We're looking for an accountant bookkeeper who loves their craft and wants to help define what modern, AI-powered bookkeeping looks like for small businesses. You'll join our team, work closely with US leadership, and help guide US-based accounting firms and clients.

This is a hands-on role at the intersection of client service and innovation. You'll use AI tools every day to deliver faster, higher-quality service — and you'll help refine those tools, documenting what you learn so other bookkeepers across the US can build on your playbook and work more efficiently over time.

You won't just keep books — you'll help invent how books get kept. Your work will directly shape the tools, workflows, and standards that bookkeepers across the US will use to serve small businesses better.
