A leading agriculture company is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage accounting operations, financial reporting, cost analysis, and month-end closing activities. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial records, support budgeting and forecasting, and provide financial insights to support business decisions.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including GL, AP, AR, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Handle month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Monitor and analyze agricultural production costs, including labor, fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, irrigation, and other farm-related expenses.
- Prepare cost analysis and variance reports for different farms/crops.
- Monitor inventory movements and conduct regular inventory reconciliations and physical counts.
- Maintain accurate records of fixed assets and depreciation.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow planning.
- Ensure compliance with Egyptian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide the required supporting documents.
- Review accounting transactions and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Supervise junior accountants and review their work.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to management to support business decisions.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all agricultural and operational transactions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- 4–7 years of accounting experience, preferably within agriculture, farming, food production, or FMCG.
- Strong knowledge of General Ledger, AP, AR, and financial reporting.
- Good understanding of cost accounting and inventory management.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Good knowledge of Egyptian taxation and accounting standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Agriculture/farming industry experience is highly preferred.
