Senior Civil Designer
About this role
As a Senior Civil Designer, you'll deliver expert civil design solutions for complex projects, autonomously navigating technical challenges and proactively developing creative solutions. This role utilises your deep understanding of industry’s best practices to ensure project success and contribute to designing better futures differently.
Responsibilities:
Technical
Prepare high-quality, detailed designs, drawings, and cost estimates for civil engineering projects (earthwork, roadworks, stormwater drainage, traffic management, water/sewage reticulation, etc.), adhering to relevant standards and the quality manual.
Provide expert advice to clients on development requirements, ensuring compliance with legislation and conditions.
Investigate engineering problems and develop effective solutions and alternatives.
Ensure all designs meet prescribed standards, conditions, and quality assurance procedures within allocated timeframes and budgets.
Continuously improving internal design systems and processes.
Successfully prioritise and manage workload to meet project deadlines.
Collaborate effectively with engineering, drafting, and detailing personnel from project initiation to construction completion.
Coordinate other essential services (e.g. electrical, telecommunications) as required.
Plan and implement design aspects of projects.
Examine documents and drawings for completeness and accuracy before client submission.
Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Innovation
Participate in discussions on work system improvements, including leveraging technology for information sharing, management, and quality control.
Actively engage in reviewing work standards and monitoring processes, initiating recommendations for improvement.
Assist clients to identify sustainable options and implications.
Bring ideas forward on how we can improve the way we deliver our partner’s experience.
Experience & Qualifications:
7 years of experience in design and documentation of civil engineering projects.
Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, 12D, Civil 3D, and Australian Standards.
Advanced Diploma of Engineering, Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology, or equivalent relevant experience.
