What you'll be doing

Global Money Operations delivers critical services across CIBC, supporting domestic and cross-border payments, foreign exchange and mid-market settlement, as well as investigation and exception management for corporate, government, and institutional clients worldwide. As Senior Director, Digital Asset Transformation, you'll lead the end-to-end adoption of digital assets within the Infrastructure and Modernization team. You'll partner closely with CIBC's Digital Asset Payment team and lead the development and integration of digital asset processes across Operations, including payments, custody, redemption, reconciliation, client onboarding, settlement and reporting, treasury, and enterprise sanction and AML processes. You'll help establish the standards, controls, and operating frameworks needed to support digital asset activity across the enterprise, with a focus on resiliency, service levels, regulatory compliance, data quality, and readiness for industry change. In this leadership role, you'll also drive the modernization of related payment infrastructure and lead a high-performing team to deliver sustainable change, operational excellence, and scalable support for the future of payments.

How you'll succeed

  • Digital Asset Strategy & Integration - Lead the design and implementation of operational processes that support CIBC's adoption of digital assets across payments, custody, redemption, reconciliation, onboarding, settlement, reporting, treasury, and enterprise anti-money laundering.
  • Operational Modernization - Define and execute the future-state operating model and modernization roadmap for payment hub infrastructure, ensuring processes, standards, and controls are scalable, resilient, and aligned to business priorities.
  • Risk, Governance & Compliance - Establish and govern operational standards that support regulatory compliance, service level expectations, data quality requirements, and readiness for industry and jurisdictional change.
  • Strategic Partnership - Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including payment networks, industry bodies, and service providers, to support transformation initiatives, influence outcomes, and enhance the client and operational experience.
  • Program Delivery - Lead large-scale transformation initiatives by planning, prioritizing, and executing work in alignment with business goals, key performance indicators, and enterprise change objectives.
  • People Leadership - Build, lead, and develop a high-performing senior team while supporting change adoption, knowledge growth, and strong execution across business, technology, and project delivery partners.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience in. Digital asset/distributed ledger implementation(s), operational transformation, real time insights and analytics supporting high STP, and enterprise modernization within a large, complex organization. It's an asset if you have experience with global payment and settlement schemes (ie. ISO 20022, Lynx, Faster/real time payments) and modern payment infrastructures and processes.
