Senior Estimator - Construction - Atlanta

About this role

We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join a leading general contractor in the Atlanta market. This role is responsible for preparing and managing preconstruction services, including conceptual estimates, detailed takeoffs, subcontractor bid reviews, and GMP proposals. The Senior Estimator will play a key role in delivering accurate, competitive, and value-driven estimates while collaborating with project managers, superintendents, and clients.

(in-office role with occasional local site travel)

Responsibilities

  • Lead estimating efforts on large commercial projects ($50M+).

  • Prepare conceptual and schematic estimates during early design phases.

  • Review drawings, specifications, and subcontractor bids.

  • Develop bid strategies and subcontractor solicitation lists; ensure complete scope coverage.

  • Conduct constructability reviews, system analysis, and value engineering exercises.

  • Manage owner deliverables including estimate summaries, clarifications, and presentations.

  • Mentor junior estimators and provide guidance to the preconstruction team.

  • Coordinate with operations teams to develop job cost budgets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 8+ years of experience in estimating for a general contractor.

  • Strong conceptual estimating skills.

  • Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software (On-Screen Takeoff, WinEst, Bluebeam, ProEst, Sage/Timberline).

  • Familiarity with BIM and Autodesk software for quantity takeoffs.

  • Excellent communication and client-facing presentation skills.

  • Experience with GMP and design-build pursuits preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $160,000 - $200,000 (depending on experience).
