A Day in the Life

The Hyperautomation team within Global IT's Enterprise Architecture & Data Platforms (EADP) organization delivers enterprise-wide automation capabilities that help reduce cost, risk, and lead time while improving efficiency, quality, and productivity across Medtronic operating units and functions globally. The team manages and advances a portfolio of technologies including Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Process Mining, Workflow and Process Automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Generative AI (GenAI), while enabling a scalable Hub and Spoke delivery model across the enterprise.

This role is based onsite in Hyderabad, India, and leads a newly formed team responsible for the delivery, operation, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise hyperautomation platforms. The role partners closely with Product Owners, Architects, technical leaders, business stakeholders, and technology partners to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards, architectural strategies, and business priorities.

As Hyperautomation Manager, you will lead a team responsible for the delivery, operation, adoption, and continuous improvement of enterprise automation platforms. This role combines people leadership, technology strategy, operational excellence, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the successful delivery of scalable automation capabilities that enable business transformation across global functions and operating units.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Recruits and grows the best talent in the market related to Hyperautomation.
  • Manages experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments.
  • Provides tactical and / or operational leadership and coaching.
  • Manages delivery of initiatives with an Agile mindset and framework.
  • Understand and use standard tools, processes, designs, and methodologies for Agile project management, documentation, system development, and implementation.
  • Innovates and drives change management - transforming the individual automation capabilities towards a synergistic solution approach where the sum is greater than its parts.
  • Pro-actively collaborates with CoPs/ CoEs/ PODs across the globe to share best practices and ensures guidelines, guardrails are followed (Hub and Spoke model).
  • Implements continuous improvement mindset and methodologies to increase platform value, quality, stability.
  • Ensures platforms are meeting Service Level Agreements by creating and implementing operational processes and solutions to ensure high availability, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicates with internal and external customers and vendors regarding ongoing operations.
  • Decisions impact program schedules, levels, allocation of time, material resources, expenditures, and funds.
  • Manages budget for the team ensuring adherence to AOP (Annual Operating Plan), suggests and implements cost efficiencies.
  • Partner with the broader Enterprise Architecture & Data Platforms organization to analyze:

    Enterprise business drivers to determine corresponding change requirements.

    The IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend broad-based solutions for improvement.

    Related technology industry and market trends and determine their potential advantage to or impact.

  • Works with and advises stakeholders, project teams, and peers in areas assigned on project needs and design.
  • Partner with the Enterprise Project Management Office to ensure alignment and execution of plans with project deliveries.
  • Ensure Medtronic's systems and information are protected in accordance with Medtronic's Information Protection Policies and Standards.
  • Ensures and monitors programmer productivity. Regularly provides constructive feedback, coaching and training for developers.
  • Responsible for budgeting, forecast and accountable for resources and project cost consumption
  • Provide regular status reports and performance metrics to management and key stakeholders.

Required knowledge and experience:

  • 18+ years of IT experience with a bachelor’s degree or 16+ years of experience with an advanced degree
  • 8+ years of managerial experience. (People management)
  • 10+ years into Hyperautomation technologies.
  • Experience implementing IT strategies.
  • Strong cross-organizational collaboration skills; ability to operate effectively in a matrixed environment and global experience.
  • Project and/or Program management, planning and organizational skills, including the ability to handle large number of complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
